No it’s not a UFO. You know it’s a drone.

I might be a bit late to the drone party but I was recently asked to do a job with a little reveal shot using a drone. I thought, “How hard can this be? I can change the channel on a TV remote control and even defrost things in the microwave!”

I started to enquire about the possibility of obtaining a drone for the said job and as luck would have it a very good friend said, “I’ve got a drone, here have a go at this!”

Sensibly, I didn’t go out straight away and crash it into a police station! After initial research and registering the app/drone I had a few practice flights in the back garden – cat wasn’t happy – and a local deserted football field. After a little trial-an-error, I soon realised that it was actually easier than watching Netflix through an app on a smart TV. So with a little perseverence, I eventually got the hang of it!!

Unfortunatey (or fortunately) the loan drone was safely returned to it’s rightful owner, and in one piece.

So after this small win, I decided I was in the market for a drone of my own. After further research to find out which drone would be a perfect fit (good picture and video quality with all the frame rates and 10 bit capture, 48 MP stills capture and adapable flying settings) I plumped for the DJI mini 3 pro. Great choice!

So here I am  – late to the party but now happily living the drone life!
