What’s the difference between these two and I’m not just talking about the 5mm focal length!
I’ve talked about the 55mm f1.2 lens before, you can see that post here and you can read all about the foybles the 55mm has. So why and what is the 50mm f1.2 all about? the original 55mm was introduced in 1965 (my example is from 1977) but the 50mm (my example is from 1979) was introduced in 1978 as the successor to the 55mm, it was designed to improve on the issues the 55mm had and at the time it was considered to be one of the best f1.2 lenses designed at the time. In modern day terms it’s an ok lens but remember one mans optical imperfection is another mans lens full of character, thats better than any digital plug-in filter money can buy.
